# Two-Factor Authentication Setup
Secure your account with two-factor authentication (2FA).
## Why Use 2FA?
- Adds an extra layer of security
- Protects against password theft
- Required for accessing sensitive systems
## Setup Process
### Step 1: Enable 2FA
1. Go to Account Settings
2. Click "Security"
3. Enable "Two-Factor Authentication"
### Step 2: Configure Your Device
1. Download an authenticator app (Google Authenticator, Authy)
2. Scan the QR code displayed
3. Enter the 6-digit code from your app
### Step 3: Save Recovery Codes
- Download and safely store your recovery codes
- Use these if you lose access to your authenticator device
## Troubleshooting
- If codes don't work, check your device's time settings
- Contact IT if you lose access to your authenticator
